Conference Background Eye health is of crucial importance throughout people’s life. With the rapid development of Internet, people’s increasing dependence on electronic products, increasingly severe aging of population, and the improvement of residents’ purchase power and willingness and other factors, the demand for ophthalmology medical services will continue to rise, and the market will continue to expand. In China, eye diseases are mainly characterized by ocular inflammation, cataract, glaucoma, dry eyes, visual fatigue, myopia, etc. Ophthalmic medical devices and equipment are constantly undergoing innovation for better treatment against such diseases. It is a trinity gold track featuring “drug + device + service”, and domestic alternatives for implanted consumables have led to the fastest growth in the ophthalmic device market. However, due to highly segmented ophthalmic diseases and high technical requirements, the ophthalmic drug and device sector is currently dominated by imported products and the domestic development of ophthalmic devices is in its early stage, leaving potential for the development of domestic alternatives in the future. At the conference, we will focus on ophthalmology high-value consumables and devices, and tap into the future development trend of ophthalmology, solutions for technical barriers and the process of localization.
