Consumer Medical Forum B: Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Session

September 25, 2024 PM | Meeting Room B2, Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, Shanghai, China

Background:

The ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) industry has received widespread attention in recent years due to problems of declining births, accelerated population aging, and increasing prevalence of infertility year by year. At the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held from March 4 to 11, 2024, several delegates have put forward proposals on fertility preservation and the implementation of a more active fertility policy. China has issued a series of guiding principles and development planning policies covering multiple dimensions for the assisted reproduction industry, such as technology access and fee payment, which have regulated and guided the market and promoted development of the industry.

Assisted reproductive technology (ART) includes two major categories of artificial insemination (AI) and in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) and its derivatives. It has developed rapidly as an emerging discipline in recent decades and continues to make breakthroughs in the field of human reproductive health. In addition to assisted reproductive therapies such as preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), mitochondrial replacement technology (MRT), frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET), and cellular therapies that have been emphasized by reproductive specialists, the innovation and upgrading of related devices used to improve the success rate, coverage, and accessibility of assisted reproductive technologies are also worthy of attention.

At the conference, we will focus on the current forefront hotspots in the field of assisted reproduction, shed light on the innovation and upgrading of related medical devices, the future ART development trend and the potential problems.

Participants:

  • Medical device manufacturers: heads of the departments of R&D, design, and technology, as well as project/company leaders
  • Assisted reproductive materials, assisted reproductive equipment suppliers and service providers
  • Doctors, and research institutes, etc.
