Medical-Engineering integration Forum – Innovative Development of Three Types of Medical Devices from a Clinical Physician’s Perspective

Conference Background:

• The State Council issued a new version of the Regulations for the Supervision and Administration of Medical Devices, including 2 major updates: strengthening whole-cycle life management and encouraging innovation. By further improving the registration and review and approval system, enterprises and individuals of medical institutions are encouraged to carry out the research and development of innovative medical devices, thereby lending fresh impetus to China’s medical device industry.
• China Food and Drug Administration shall continue to promote the implementation of the medical device registrant system, encourage front-line medical personnel to transform patent achievements such as scientific research innovation, upgrade incentive measures for the translationof scientific and technological achievements, promoting the coordinated development of medical teaching, research and production.
• The goal of strengthening medical & industry coordination and improving supply ability, mentioned in the “Fourteenth Five-Year Plan” for the Development of Medical Equipment Industry, states that we should stimulate the demand side, deepen supply-side structural reform, build a medical enterprise cooperation platform, and improve the innovation system “technological innovation – product development – clinical evaluation – demonstration application – feedback improvement – level improvement – radiation promotion” of medical equipment products.
