STI Presents a new feature: Coating services

August 2018 – STI Laser Industries Ltd. (STI), a Contract Manufacturer of medical devices, with 20 years of experience, specializing in laser cutting and welding, braiding and wire forming, heat treatments and surface treatments of miniature metal components, used in implants and surgical tools.

We are now happy to announce our collaboration with Medibrane and the expansion of our scope of services by adding coating capabilities, including various coating materials specifically adjusted to the intended application.  We aim mostly at implantable devices made of metal or bioresorbable materials, including – stents, heart valves, occluding devices, filters and retrievers.  The metal components can be laser cut, braided or made by wire forming.

Coating materials and thickness are custom-made to the device, covering a wide range of biocompatible materials, including: Silicon and Polyurethane, ePTFE and fabric material (Dakron).  The coating may cover the entire device or the struts of which the device is made. It may be impermeable or porous and can be applied to the inner or outer surfaces of the device, or to both.   Coating application technology may vary according to the device intended use and the coating material selected – from dipping, spraying, electro-spinning and using adhesive substances.

STI is registered to EN ISO13485: 2016, certified by DEKRA – an international notified body. Our comprehensive quality assurance ensures that both products and processes meet their specific requirements to ensure traceability, reproducibility and full compliance with customer’s specifications.
