As an important part of medical devices, medical device packaging and sterilization play a key role in ensuring safety and effectiveness of medical devices. With the continuous emergence of new technologies in recent years a large number of new and specialized materials and techniques used for manufacturing of outer packing of medical devices have emerged. With the continuous update of the standard catalog of medical devices, the packaging and sterilization requirements for different types of medical devices have also been clearly determined.

At the same time, environmental protection is increasingly valued. In addition to efficiency, there are more and more new requirements for sterilization. New regulations are expected to be introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reduce EtO emissions from commercial sterilization facilities, which also promotes the rapid growth in demand for the materials used for other sterilization methods.
