Background: Under the dual drive of the “14th Five-Year Plan” for high-quality development of the medical equipment industry and the national Action Plan for Promoting Large-scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Product Trade-in, China’s implantable and interventional medical device industry is undergoing historic changes. President Xi Jinping’s emphasis on “key core technology breakthroughs” and “self-reliance and controllability” strategies injects strong momentum into the industry, accelerating its transformation towards intelligent, precise, and domestically produced directions. Currently, centralized procurement policies are reshaping the industry ecosystem, forcing companies to shift from “price competition” to “innovation breakthroughs,” significantly increasing the domestic substitution rate. Data shows that China’s medical equipment market reached 1.27 trillion yuan in 2023, with a compound annual growth rate of 14%. The domestic market share of high-end equipment has increased from less than 10% to over 40%. Active implantable and interventional devices have become the main battlefield for innovation, with AI empowerment, biodegradable materials, energy ablation, and other cutting-edge technologies deeply integrated. Meanwhile, application scenarios continue to expand: ophthalmology, neurointervention, tumor intervention, and other fields are bursting with new vitality. However, the industry still faces challenges such as reliance on imported core components, insufficient primary healthcare capabilities, and the need to enhance participation in international standards. Therefore, this conference will focus on new trends and technologies, discussing paths for technological breakthroughs, clinical application transformations, and global market strategies to help companies seize growth opportunities.
