Panasonic unveils new lithium ion pin batteries for wearables
Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Co. of America recently announced a new addition to its line of lithium-ion pin cells for the wearables market.
The Panasonic CG420A lithium-ion pin batteries have a spiral-wound construction that enables higher reliability and rapid charging (80% charged in 20 minutes), according to Panasonic. The company says the batteries, which are 4.7 mm in diameter, are ideal for a range of wearable applications including hearing aids, smart inhalers, smart glasses, styluses and more.
Panasonic officials also opted for a stainless steel exterior container rather than polymer material to provide dimensional stability and prevent swelling over the CG420’s lifetime. The company is offering the product with tabs.
“The CG420 Li Ion Pin battery is an excellent addition to our batteries designed for wearable devices,” said Seiichi Aoki, Panasonic resident engineer. “Simply visit our website to request samples and find out how Panasonic batteries can solve your portable power needs.”
